In an effort to become more sustainable and modernized, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners has just announced that it has made a $171 million investment to improve its Grigny bottling facility in France.
With that massive investment, their production line will be able to produce 60,000 returnable glass bottles every hour. Now, here's the truly remarkable part. Each of those bottles can then be returned and reused up to 25 times.
For those in the U.S., it could prove difficult to get your hands on the ultra-sustainable bottles given that 95 percent of the drinks bottled at the facility are sold in France. But we do appreciate their locals-first approach.

The Grigny bottling facility will also be able to cut down on its natural gas use by about 80 percent by connecting to the local geothermal network.
"A €150 million investment will help us boost the site’s production capacity by 60% — that means more of your favourite drinks, from Coca-Cola Original Taste to local hero Tropico. And we’re cutting carbon emissions while we’re doing it, by tapping into local renewable energy to help reduce our carbon footprint," read an Instagram post shared by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners in May of this year.
It's been quite the exciting week for Coca-Cola overall. In addition to the upcoming change to some of its glass bottles, it's also been announced that Carnival Cruise Line will be partnering with Coca-Cola to make the brand the preferred beverage partner across its North American fleet.
That means beginning later this summer guests on Carnival will be able to enjoy an assortment of Coca-Cola products, including Diet Coke, Sprite and Fanta. They can also look forward to Coca-Cola's low-calorie options and sparkling flavored water, including Topo Chico.
