Dylan Efron was the breakout star on Season 3 of The Traitors because of his easygoing and likable personality. Still, there was one magical aspect to his ascent in Hollywood that goes beyond his appearance on a reality competition show.
Efron, who is Zac Efron's younger brother, is known for his thirst traps on Instagram. The avid athlete and outdoorsman loves to share shirtless snapshots of himself fishing, hanging out with his dog, and showcasing his Speedo wardrobe. The images always generate headlines and plenty of attention from his followers. And now, he's sharing the crucial "secret" to making those posts pop off.
“The secret’s just knowing that I’m in on the joke. I know I’m posting thirst traps, and some people love it, some people hate it, but it’s fun at the end of the day,” Efron told People. “Instagram is about having fun. I can make fun of myself, so I love posting a thirst trap."
The 33-year-old producer isn't letting fame get to his head because his girlfriend, the very "offline" Courtney King, keeps him grounded. They met in high school and have been together at least since October 2016, when she made her first appearance on his Instagram account. But King isn't looking for the spotlight, so their relationship is going to stay firmly off the radar.
Efron's next steps are undefined right now, but he has a movie idea ready to go. "I wrote a script for the Lifetime Channel about a love triangle gone wrong. It never made it to the screen, but I hope it will someday," he revealed to Just Jared in November 2020.
He's also a die-hard Survivor fan and probably wouldn't turn down an invitation to appear on the show. "That’s in their court, and they like casting people that haven’t been on shows before," he told The Hollywood Reporter in early March. "I’ve always been a fan of Survivor, but that’s up to Jeff Probst."
