The Russo Brothers are coming back into the Marvel fold to direct the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars installments and the duo are teasing some wild things to come.

The Brothers previously directed the Avengers movies Infinity War and Endgame but this time around some faces have changed and some will remain the same.

While casting for the next movies has been kept tight, the major announcement was the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU, not as Iron Man this time, but as supervillain Doctor Doom.

The Russo Brothers are "always looking for new faces, cause there’s always new stories to tell," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The directing pair also touched on how these two Avengers features won’t be just like their past efforts, and the upcoming ones with Doom are going to be a shock to some fans.

“I think these movies are gonna be a surprise to people. We found a way into the story that’s very exciting to us, but, we think, very radical, and I think it’s gonna challenge audiences,” they said.

Doomsday and Secret Wars will begin filming in April in London, with the movies being shot back to back. Doomsday will hit theaters on May 1, 2026, and Secret Wars will follow on May 7, 2027.

Marvel’s next big release will be this summer with The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and John Malkovich starring movie arrives in theaters on July 25, 2025.

The first four Avengers are streaming on Disney+.
