Jackass star Steve-O made a name for himself for his wild stunts, including ones that messed with his own appearance. Now, the 50-year-old comedian is showing off his latest change in appearance: A wild haircut given by none other than Mark Wahlberg himself.
On Jan. 16, Wahlberg stopped by Steve-O's Wild Ride! podcast to discuss everything from his new movie Flight Risk to his new life in Las Vegas with his family. At the end of the interview, Steve-O gave viewers a special treat as he allowed Wahlberg to partially shave his head to resemble Wahlberg's balding Flight Risk character, pilot and hitman Daryl Booth.
Wahlberg described his process for creating the look for his character, as well as how his family received it. "I had to test it a couple of times," he admitted. "When I went home, my wife was terrified. The kids didn't want to see me."
Wahlberg went on to give Steve-O props for wanting to copy the character's hair, as Wahlberg himself committed to the wild look during filming by also shaving his hair into a balding pattern. "I've just gotta say that I'm so impressed because I wanted to do the haircut for real. First of all, I don't want to sit in that makeup chair putting on a wig and a bald cap and all the s--t," he explained. "I know a lot of guys who are bald and always embraced it—my dad, for one."
"So I'm hoping this is going to carry on a trend," he confessed. "Steve is going to be the first one to say 'Hey, in support of the movie, he wants to do it.' And then I thought, when I first came to him, I said, 'This guy's done everything. There's nothing he's scared of.'" As Wahlberg began shaving off Steve-O's hair with clippers, he discovered the Jackass star has a head tattoo resembling those on a crash test dummy.
