The L.A. fires have changed everything. Countless people lost their homes, the death toll is rising, and the surrounding suburbs of Los Angeles will never be the same. From the very wealthy stars who live in the area to everyday people paying their rent and struggling to get by, the fires have hit hard.

But, in Hollywood and the music industry, there's that old phrase, "the show must go on," originally attributed to circus ringmasters who, ironically enough, often sent tigers through burning rings of fire. In 2025, when it comes to the big, impending awards shows like the Grammys and the Oscars, the show will go on, albeit a bit differently this time out. Here's what will be different about the Oscars and the Grammys in 2025.

When are the 2025 Grammys? Are They Canceled?

The biggest night in the music business has been, since 1959, the Grammy Awards. The 67th annual Grammy Awards will happen this year as scheduled on Sunday, February 2 at 8:00 p,m, EST. But various music conglomerates have made it clear that many promotional events and parties have been canceled this year. Instead, as reported by AP, "...many institutions have canceled their plans—Universal Music Group, BMG, and Warner Music Group among them—and instead are allocating resources to Los Angeles-area wildfire relief and rebuilding efforts."

So, in short, money and time spent on parties for the Grammys will instead be spent on donating to help fix the aftermath of the fires.

That said, there will still be a red carpet event for the night of the event.

How to Watch the 2025 Grammys

You can stream the 2025 Grammys red carpet on YouTube. The actual 2025 Grammy Awards will air on CBS, which means you can stream it live either with regular cable or through Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and FuboTV. You'll also be able to watch the Grammys on Paramount+ on Monday, February 3, the day after it happens.

The 2025 Oscars will be hosted by Conan O'Brien, and despite some rumors of cancelation or postponement, will go forward as planned. The 97th Annual Academy Awards will air on Sunday, March 2, starting at 7:00 p.m. EST. As pointed out by THR, a rumor posted by The Sun in the U.K., which claimed that "The Oscars awards ceremony is on the verge of being canceled for the first time in its 96-year history…" was false. THR confirmed with its own sources that there is no plan to cancel the Oscars in March.

That said, some people have suggested the awards ceremony be canceled anyway. Stephen King, the most famous writer on the planet, said on Bluesky: "Not voting in the Oscars this year. IMHO they should cancel them. No glitz with Los Angeles on fire."

So far, the only true change in the Oscars schedule is that the nomination announcements have been delayed, and the voting period has been extended. As per Deadline this week: "Oscar nominations now will be revealed on Thursday, January 23, at 5:30 a.m. PT. The Academy already had delayed the noms date once, moving it last week from Friday, January 17, to Sunday, January 19."

That process will happen online, and will not be an in-person event. From there, the ceremony—red carpet and all is—still expected on March 2.

How to Watch the 2025 Oscars

According to Rolling Stone, for the first time ever, the Oscars will air on live network TV and stream online at the same time. To watch the Oscars live you'll either need to be tuned to your local ABC channel or watch it all on with a regular Hulu subscription.
