Travis Scott was arrested early Thursday morning over an incident involving a yacht in Miami Beach. The 33-year-old was booked on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing on property after having been warned by authorities.
NBC News reports that police had responded to a call about a disturbance on a yacht at the Miami Beach Marina, and that people had been fighting. Officers arrived to the scene to find Scott "standing by the dock yelling at the vessel occupants." The "goosebumps" rapper reportedly initially complied when told to sit down, but then apparently "disregarded" the officers' commands.
An affidavit stated that the complainant said he did not want to press charges, but just wanted Scott off the yacht.
After being threatened with arrest, Scott agreed to leave, but "walked backwards yelling obscenities to the occupants of the vessel" while returning to the boardwalk. However, he allegedly returned just minutes later and began yelling again. Officers then arrested Scott as his behavior was "becoming erratic" and he was causing a public disturbance by "disturbing the peace of the occupants of the marina and nearby residential buildings."
Officers also reported that there was "a strong smell of alcohol coming from the defendant's breath." After finally being taken into custody at 1:17 a.m., Scott admitted that he had been drinking alcohol and reportedly told officers: "It’s Miami."
Scott was booked into into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center around 4:30 a.m., and according to court records, submitted a bond of $650. On Thursday morning, he issued a brief tweet following the incident:
