China's famous Yuntai Mountain Park attracts millions of visitors every year who come to take in all the natural beauty that the country's Henan province has to offer. It's also home to Yuntai Mountain, where the tallest waterfall in the country stands at an impressive 1,030 feet.
Lately, however, the Yuntai Waterfall is going viral for another reason besides its size and beauty. According to CNN, video has been circulating on Chinese social media of a pipe apparently supplying water to the falls. Naturally, the idea that such a stunning landmark could have artificial help sparked confusion online.
In response, Yuntai Mountain Park's management explained that bringing in a pipe was necessary to maintain the falls' water levels. It's done, they say, during the dry season when the water flow lightens up.
“[The waterfall] cannot guarantee to meet the public in its most beautiful appearance due to season changes," they said, per CNN. They went on to call the modification "a tiny improvement during [the] dry season" and were happy that visitors were talking about the place. Because of China's monsoon climate, it's hard to keep water flowing in the dry season. Still, with this so-called improvement, officials hope the waterfall will be in its "most perfect and most natural form" when guests visit this summer.

It's not the first time reinforcements have been brought in to boost waterfalls' strength in the country. For years, the Huangguoshu Waterfall in the Guizhou province also became weaker in the dry season. A dam was constructed in 2004 to ensure that it wouldn't ever dry up.
