For those about to rock…AC/DC salutes you. One of the best rock bands of all time is playing at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Friday, following the show’s postponement last Friday due to the infamous nor’easter.
Foo Fighters to Open Rescheduled AC/DC Show
Instead of The Pretty Reckless opening for the band, though, Foo Fighters will step up to the plate. This is the second time they’ve subbed for the Taylor Momsen-led group, the first being Sept. 8 in St. Louis, Missouri. The Pretty Reckless are on the docket to play the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, California, on Thursday, Oct. 1. They’re also playing the inaugural Power to the People Festival on Saturday, Oct. 3, in Columbia, Maryland. So, needless to say, it’s a tight turnaround.
The rescheduled concert will mark the end of AC/DC’s tour. The Foo Fighters are currently on their own tour, promoting their 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy, which was released on April 24, 2026. According to their site, they have two more performances in the U.S., excluding their team-up with AC/DC at MetLife, before they venture across the pond for the Australia and New Zealand leg of their tour. As of writing, the final stop is on March 3, 2027, in Lima, Peru.
The Pretty Reckless are touring to promote their fifth studio album, Dear God, which was released on June 26, 2026. After Power to the People, the band is taking a break before resuming the international leg of their tour on Nov. 9 in Madrid, Spain. Their final stop is in Mumbai, India, on Jan. 31, 2027.
AC/DC has been on their Power Up Tour (or PWR/UP Tour) for over two years, kicking off the festivities on May 17, 2024. The tour supports their 17th studio album, Power Up (PWR/UP), which was released on Nov. 13, 2020.
Tickets are still available for the AC/DC and Foo Fighters show at MetLife on Friday, Oct. 2.
