Why We Love This Deal
One of the more noteworthy entries into Merrell’s esteemed Moab collection as of late is the Luxe Leather. To date, most hiking boots and shoes in this line have had a pig suede upper, but the Luxe Leather instead has a stylish full-grain leather that doesn’t give an inch on performance. The brand made this version of the bestselling hiker in both a boot version and a shoe, and the latter is currently on sale for less than $75.
The $160 Merrell Moab 3 Luxe Leather Shoes were already marked down to $120, but if you use code EXTRA40 at checkout, it brings the price down to $72. All three colorways are on sale as well, and while stock looks solid at the moment, that likely won’t be the case for long, considering the standard Moab 3 hiking shoe is the brand’s bestseller of all time.

What Shoppers Should Know
- Upper: Full-grain leather and mesh
- Midsole: EVA foam with Merrell Air Cushion heel, molded nylon arch shank, leather-covered removable PU footbed with pigskin lining
- Outsole: Vibram Ecostep Recycle (30% recycled rubber)
- Construction: Lace-up, half-pair, total weight of both shoes is 940 g
- Best For: Hiking, all-terrain trail use, daily wear
The standard Moab 3s use a pigskin suede and mesh upper, which has definitely proven to be useful across millions of pairs, but it usually wears faster than full-grain leather. The Luxe Leathers fix this by adding a full-grain leather upper, making them more abrasion-resistant, less prone to degrading, and, arguably, a little nicer looking. The pigskin lining and leather footbed are also new features that add comfort and a more “luxe” feel, and the Vibram Ecostep Recycle outsole (made specifically for wet and dry traction) is a step up from the standard version.
Compared to the OG Moab 3s, which retail for $140, the Luxe Leathers tack on an extra $20 at full price for the full-grain leather, upgraded interior, and better outsole. That’s a pretty reasonable premium for upgrades that make the shoes more durable, and at $72, they’re going for much less than what the standard Moab 3s retail for (though a few colors are on sale).

What Shoppers Are Saying
One shopper commented, “They are extremely durable and very comfortable,” and another wrote, “I could wear these every day and still look good, no matter what I was doing.”
The added leather is for more than looks, too, because it also makes the shoes last longer: “The leather exterior and pig skin lining support longevity.” Additionally, older folks appreciate the support: “As I age, their stability helps my balance around the farm.”
The Merrell Moab 3 Luxe Leather Shoes can be yours for $72 while sizes are around, which might not be for much longer.
