The second most popular Paramount+ show of all time has officially, finally, been green-lit for a second season. After a massive Season 1 cliffhanger in 2025, the English mafia show MobLandwill return for at least one more season, and almost certainly, a third season, too. This means that all fears that the various plotlines would not be resolved have been put to rest.
"We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to No. 1 in the U.K.," said Chris McCarthy, one of Paramount Global’s CEOs, according to The Hollywood Reporter on Monday, June 23, 2025. With 26 million viewers globally, the only Paramount+ original show to be a bigger hit is Landman.
But what do we know about the future of the show? Here are the details about the cast, the plot, and the release date for MobLand Season 2. Plus, the confirmation about Season 3, too. Spoilers ahead for MobLand Season 1.
MobLand Season 2 Release Date
Luke Varley/Paramount+
As of this writing, an exact release date for MobLand Season 2 has not been set. But, because Season 2 has completed filming, a release date sometime in 2026 is almost assured. Speaking to Screenrant in May 2026, producer Guy Ritchie confirmed, "We've got MobLand before the end of the year."
This means that Season 2 of MobLand will likely debut on Paramount+ sometime in the Fall of 2026, or perhaps in December 2026.
MobLand Season 2 Cast
The cast for MobLand Season 2 will almost certainly include everybody who survived Season 1. And, likely some new characters, too. But, based on the ending of Season 1, Episode 10, "The Beast in Me," here's who will be back for Season 2.
- Pierce Brosnan as Conrad Harrigan
- Tom Hardy as Harry Da Souza
- Helen Mirren as Maeve Harrigan
- Paddy Considine as Kevin Harrigan,
- Joanne Froggatt as Jan Da Souza
- Lara Pulver as Bella Harrigan
- Anson Boon as Eddie Harrigan
- Mandeep Dhillon as Seraphina Harrigan
- Janet McTeer as Kat McAllister
Because Brendan (Daniel Betts) was killed in Season 1, he could appear in flashbacks in Season 2. Ditto O’Hara (Lisa Dwan) as the Harrigans' lawyer; deceased, but maybe back in flashbacks. Finally, although Harry and Kevin killed rival mob leader Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell) in the Season 1 finale, it also stands to reason that Richie could appear again, via flashbacks.
MobLand Season 2 Plot
The season finale ended with a few big cliffhangers, but generally, with things on the upswing for the Harrigan family. It appeared that Conrad and Maeve were going to be released from prison, while Harry and Kevin basically asserted the dominance of the Harrigan family in the crime business by taking out the last of the Stevensons.
But there are several loose ends. Despite owing a mega-mob boss Kat McAllister a huge favor, Harry, the de facto leader of the Harrigans, told her he would not come work for her, effectively putting the Harrigans at war with an even bigger crime syndicate. At the same time, it seemed that Conrad's daughter, Seraphina, was poised for a bigger role in running the family. In fact, actress Mandeep Dhillon told Men's Journal that: "For a Season 2, I'd definitely see her up there, with more power."
On top of all of this, Eddie Harrigan (Anson Boon) went missing at the end of Season 1, after learning that his grandfather, Conrad, was his true father, and that he wasn't blood-related to his grandmother at all. A stand-out character in Season 1, Boon told Men's Journal that: "I think Eddie is thinking about his next move, because who do you trust anymore?"
Finally, the biggest cliffhanger that Season 2 will have to resolve is the moment that Harry's (Tom Hardy) wife, Jan (Joanne Froggatt), stabbed him by accident, while having a fairly tame argument in the kitchen.
Will Harry survive? Yes. Almost certainly. Tom Hardy is back for Season 2 and Season 3.
Tom Hardy Has Not Been Fired From MobLand Season 3
In the past few months, starting in May 2026, rumors circulated that series star Tom Hardy was leaving MobLand, after he supposedly clashed with the production team, specifically, showrunner Jez Butterworth. However, as of June 30, Deadline reported that Hardy, producer David Glasser, and Jez Butterworth had patched things up, "which resulted in Hardy returning to the series full-time."
Technically, Season 3 has not been formally renewed. But considering the anticaption for Season 2, we can expect that announcement very, very soon.
