It was in October 2025 when Formula 1 announced a five-year partnership with Apple to become the sport's exclusive U.S. broadcast partner, beginning in 2026, amplifying the sport across Apple News, Apple Maps, Apple Music, Apple Sports, and Apple Fitness+.
The news came shortly after Brad Pitt's F1 The Movie premiered on the platform as an Apple Original Film. Amid F1's new partnership, fans in the U.S. flooded Apple TV to sign up to catch all the F1 action.
But now, for the first time, fans in the U.S. will have the chance to soak up an entire F1 weekend when Apple TV makes its coverage available for free for this upcoming weekend's F1 Austrian Grand Prix from June 26 to June 28.

Apple says fans can watch every session live on Apple TV, including practice, qualifying, and Sunday's Grand Prix with no subscription required.
Fans who tune in this weekend are in for a treat: the track (the Red Bull Ring) in Austria is set in a bowl in the Styrian Hills, making it one of the most picturesque in F1. While the Red Bull Ring has the fewest corners of any circuit on the schedule, it still offers plenty of opportunities to overtake.
It's been an exciting 2026 season so far, with Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton taking the top podium in Barcelona last weekend. Then there's 19-year-old phenom Kimi Antonelli, who has already won five F1 races this year, including four in a row.
