Ford has issued its 34th recall of the year, just five months in. This time, the manufacturer's newest recall covers the 2024-2026 Ranger truck and Bronco SUV. The brand's recall report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that seat bolts may come loose, increasing the likelihood of a crash in the event a failure does occur.

Ford lays the blame on a supplier, stating that a torque checking process was not properly completed. Rather than checking the torque on seat bolts after the adhesive had cured, the supplier did so before. This "disrupted the curing of the adhesive patch on the threaded fastener.” As a result, the bolts could loosen over time and dislodge entirely from the joint. The issue is a persistent one at Ford. In 2025, a similarly-sized recall of around 163,000 Broncos covered the same issue.

Ford, aware of this, continued to monitor similar vehicles, like the Ranger, for the issue between 2024 and 2025. In March, Ford realized the problem was still occurring and saw an increase in warranty claims related to the loose seat bolt. After evaluating some 60 warranty reports, the automaker issued this recall for 179,698 Rangers and Broncos produced between 2024 and 2026.

Ford says it will remove front seats and inspect them for the loose bolt as part of the fix. If the bolt is found to be loose, it will be replaced. Owners themselves will be able to identify the issue by way of loose, squeaky seats that may also rattle. Regardless, owners of the vehicles will be notified of the recall on July 13, 2026. Owners can also use the NHTSA's website to check their VIN to discover if their vehicle fits the recall or not.
