Shane Lowry vaulted himself into contention on Saturday at the Masters with a hole-in-one at No. 6 to become the first player in Masters history to make two holes-in-one at the iconic tournament – his first came 10 years ago at the par-3 16th hole during the 2016 Masters.
Not only did Lowry join Masters history, but he also jumped from six under to eight under, putting him only four shots off McIlroy’s lead at the time.
“That’s wild, isn’t it? Made one a couple of weeks ago in Houston. You don’t ever expect to make a hole-in-one. I just couldn’t believe it. Obviously, you know, you’re out there, and you’re in the hunt at the Masters and you’re making hole-in-one, it’s pretty cool,” Lowry reflected after the round. “The walk down the 6th hole with everyone around 16 and the 6th was very special. I’ll remember that for a while. Yeah, it was obviously amazing.”

It's been quite the weekend for Lowry, who vaulted himself back into contention with a four-under, 68 to sit just two shots off the lead of longtime friend Rory McIlroy and Cameron Young.
The major champion has a chance to make it the weekend of a lifetime if he were to win the green jacket on Sunday – which just so happens to be his anniversary with wife Wendy.
"Happy anniversary, 10 years on," she wrote on Instagram showing a photo of the couple in the same spot in New York City 10 years apart.

The 2019 Open champion revealed he and his wife of 10 years initially met on a random night out with no friends initially introducing the couple to each other.
"I met her on a random night out," Lowry told the Irish Independent. "Nobody introduced us or anything and no, it wasn't in Coppers."
The couple share two daughters, Iris and Ivy.
Lowry is set to tee off alongside Sam Burns in the penultimate group at 2:14 p.m. ET.
