The CW has officially locked up Good Cop/Bad Cop and thrown away the key — with the police procedural officially dropped by the network with no second season.
The series followed estranged siblings and detectives Lou and Henry Hickman, portrayed by Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) and Luke Cook (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), working together at the small town police force, Eden Vale P.D. The siblings work under Chief of Police, Big Hank Hickman (portrayed by Clancy Brown, known for The Shawshank Redemption and SpongeBob SquarePants) — who also happens to be their father.
In a TikTok video, lead actor Luke Cook took to the video-sharing app to inform fans that the CW had declined to provide a second season for the show.

“Sad to let you know this, but we will not be doing a Season 2 of Good Cop/Bad Cop,” Cook said in the video. “I loved making that show, I loved making friends with everybody on that cast and crew, and John, who wrote the show. They’re all my great friends, so I’m sad we won’t get to do it again. But thank you to everyone who watched the show, like thank you."
"I’m sorry that it didn’t work out, and we won’t be doing more of it. But it’s a tough business. Hollywood has the ability to make your dreams come true and also break your heart. Onwards and upwards. Thanks for the support,” he concluded.
Series showrunner John Quaintance remained slightly more optimistic about Good Cop/Bad Cop's future, however. Speaking to Deadline, the writer expressed hope that the show's run on Amazon Prime Video could possibly result in the streamer picking up the comedy from the CW. This would be a similar trajectory to another cop comedy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which was picked up by NBC in 2018, after being cancelled on Fox after five seasons.
“We’re still trying to make that happen," Quaintance told the outlet.
