Every so often, we see an American air traveler become famous for a public meltdown. This weekend, a female Southwest Airlines passenger did the honors.
The unidentified woman was waiting for a flight at Denver International Airport Friday when she began screaming at fellow passengers and airline workers, as documented in video shared on TikTok by user Taylor Graboyes.
"POV: You're running off two hours of sleep after a work trip and this is your airport experience," says the caption written over the video.
Threats toward staff, belligerent behavior
It seems like a flight delay is what set this woman off. We've all been frustrated about late planes before, but there's no excuse for the display this woman put on.
"Do you guys feel safe?!" the woman shouted at her fellow travelers, adding in a "get sued, b---h" toward one of the gate workers.
“How dare you treat me this way? How dare you?" she continued in an unhinged manner. "Who are you? Why is our plane late? Why are not we boarding?"
According to TMZ, witnesses say the woman was denied boarding because the plane was already full, but that explanation only set her off more.
"You tell me I cannot board now? Because I questioned why it is late?!" she fumed, holding her phone in her hand and filming the staff the entire time.
Eventually, order was restored
The woman at one point requested someone "breathalyze" her and also demanded that someone "come and get" the worker she was berating fired.
“She had tears in her eyes when I went over to check on her afterwards I felt so bad,” Graboyes wrote in the comments section about the woman behind the counter.
Police finally came and escorted the woman away. The entire ordeal reportedly took 30 minutes.
