If you were hoping that Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark would be able to overcome her most recent injury in time for the WNBA All-Star Game this weekend, you're going to be disappointed.

Clark, who is a captain and was responsible for building one of the All-Star teams, was slated to take part in both the 3-point contest and All-Star Game itself.

However, she revealed on Thursday that she will not be taking part in either event and will instead be sidelined.

"I am incredibly sad and disappointed to say I can't participate in the 3-Point Contest or the All-Star Game," Clark said. "I have to rest my body. I will still be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for all the action and I'm looking forward to helping Sandy coach our team to a win."

Clark suffered a groin injury in the July 15 game against the Connecticut Sun, marking the third time she was forced to miss time because of injury this season.

The Iowa product's absence has proven to be a big blow to the WNBA's ratings, and the same could happen due to her absence from this weekend's contest.

The WNBA All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, July 19, in the Fever's home arena. The 3-Point Contest will go down the day before.
