On the last day of operation after 67 years in business, a beloved Michigan restaurant got a little extra help from its former employees.

Corsi's Restaurant & Banquet Hall closed its doors on June 30, but before that the restaurant was swamped with orders on the final day it was open.

That's when former employees who were visiting the restaurant to say goodbye jumped into action to lend a helping hand.

“They just showed up to say goodbye,” co-owner Penny Corsi said, per Laura Colvin of Hometown Life. “And when they saw we needed some help, they started working — baking pizzas, cleaning tables, doing whatever needed to be done.

"It was great. That’s the kind of place this has always been.”

The restaurant, located in Livonia, Michigan, doesn't have the same sad reasons for closing that so many others around the country have.

Instead, Corsi revealed that she had been trying to sell the business for four years and plans on retiring now that it has been sold.

“We’re ready,” she said. “But we are so appreciative of every single person who’s supported us.”

For those who are sad to see the popular spot go, there is some good news.

The new restaurant is expected to keep Corsi's pizza recipe, according to Bernard Webster, who is the buyer of the restaurant. In addition to to that, Webster plans on keeping as many of Corsi's employees as possible.
