Back in April, it was announced to some degree of surprise that the second-best selling jersey across both the NBA and WNBA, trailing only Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry, was the famous No. 22 worn by the Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark.
As a rookie last season, with Clark's popularity quickly reaching astronomical heights and the WNBA seeing all kinds of records being broken when it came to television ratings, it didn't exactly shock the world when it was announced that the 23-year-old star received the most 2024 All-Star game votes, and did so by a comfortable margin.
On Friday, June 20, the first fan voting returns were announced by the league for the 2025 WNBA All-Star game, which is conveniently being held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Caitlin's home turf in Indianapolis.
And once again, Clark is leading the pack at No. 1 by 30,000-plus votes, garnering a total of 515,993 in the first returns.

The only major surprise is seeing Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese landing all the way down at No. 13 after finishing fifth overall in last year's All-Star voting as a rookie.
Three of Clark's Fever teammates—forward Aliyah Boston (No. 3), guard Kelsey Mitchell (No. 7), and guard Lexie Hull (No. 8)—are all comfortably ahead of Reese so far in the voting.
Is the home-court advantage playing a factor in these initial results?
Probably.
The Fever have a passionately devoted fan base and with Indianapolis playing host to the All-Star game, those fans are likely making an extra effort to see their favorite hometown players take part in the festivities.
However, with Reese having finished with a total of 381,518 votes for last year's game, it's difficult not to notice the significant drop-off to 13th after what was a remarkable voting turnout from fans in 2024, particularly so since it was just her rookie season.
The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game will be held on Saturday, July 19, in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The WNBA's "STARRY 3-Point Contest" and the "Kia WNBA Skills Challenge" will be held the day before, on Friday, July 18.
