Justin Timberlake's 'Rude' Viral Video Is Perfectly Understandable For One Big Reason

If somebody pulled up next to you at a stoplight and asked you to race, your answer would probably be "no way." Think about what happened to Marty McFly in Back to the Future II. But now, Justin Timberlake is getting some flack online for declining to race some fans for no apparent reason. Strangely, this totally sensible move has been called "rude" and "mean" by some people on social media.

On Sunday, a viral video began circulating on X which, taken from the point-of-view of the car in question, depicts a car full of people goading Justin Timberlake into racing them when the light changes. Timberlake keeps asking the other driver "Do you want something?" And the driver keeps responding "Let's race."

One occupant of the car seems to tell the harassing men to "stop," while Timberlake, flips the bird, visibly annoyed, and drives away. The obvious thing that happened here is that some younger drivers were giving Timberlake a hard time for simply existing. And the idea that he should respond to anything about "racing" a random group of strangers with anything but annoyance is strange.

Plus, Timberlake has a very good reason to indulge the random challenges of younger drivers. Last year, Timberlake pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons in New York. He paid a $500 fine, admitted to his "mistake" and committed to community service as part of his punishment.

Assuming the video depicts a recent incident (it's unclear at this time when and where the video was taken), it makes perfect sense that Timberlake would want to avoid any reckless driving. If anything, someone taunting him into street racing is likely mocking him about the DUI incident from 2024. Either way, the street racing world of Fast & Furious should stay in the realm of fantasy, and Justin Timberlake doesn't need to defy any more traffic laws to bring his sexy back.

Justin Timberlake is currently on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, supporting his latest album, Everything I Thought I Was.
