For those who remember, there was a time when Pirates of the Caribbean wasn't a massive film franchise or the subject of a classic Lonely Island/Michael Bolton song. Since 1967, Pirates of the Caribbean has simply been a ride at Disneyland, and the final ride that Walt Disney himself helped to design. Today, of course, it has grown into a much bigger deal, but that doesn't mean that Pirates of the Caribbean can't go back to its theme park roots.

According to new reports of what's coming to various Disney parks in 2025, including articles on Wesh and WdWnT, there are several changes coming to Disney World in the new year, including a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar called Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern. Details are scarce so far, though several tourist blogs have noted that this has been coming for quite some time.

Apparently, the Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern will be an all-ages restaurant, but much like Oga's Cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, this new attraction will 100 percent serve alcohol. Pricey, tropical cocktails are guaranteed to be part of this new longue, and there's a good bet that many of these will be heavy on rum, otherwise, it's not really pirate-y without a ton of rum, right?

There's not a definite opening date for the Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern at Disney World. At least not yet. However, most insiders note that in a since-deleted press release, Disney indicated the tavern would open in late 2025. So, if you're headed to Disney World this summer, and you want to drink like a pirate, you'll have to wait a bit longer. The full, boozy Pirates of the Caribbean experience probably won't actually arrive until the Fall or Winter of this year.
