Shake Shack is offering an exclusive giveaway next week, depending on how long the Oscars telecast on Sunday runs.
Should the Academy Awards ceremony stretch past three hours and 31 minutes, which seems quite likely, you can help yourself to a free Chicken Shack sandwich; but if it falls below 211 minutes, customers will still be able to grab a free SmokeShack burger.
Shake Shack will commence the deal the day after the ceremony, March 11, and conclude it the following week, March 18. Throughout those dates, any guest who places an order totaling $10 or more at a restaurant kiosk, or on Shake Shack’s website, will receive their choice of a free sandwich by using the code “BIGWINS” at checkout. The deal is not available if you order at the restaurant’s counter, or through delivery apps.
Shake Shack’s Chicken Shack consists of a crispy, white-meat chicken breast served over lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo on a toasted potato bun. The SmokeShack, inspired by the smoky flavors of bacon, is made from an all-natural Angus beef patty, with applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry peppers, and ShackSauce topping it off.

If you happen to be an Oscar nominee and live in West Hollywood, Shake Shack wants to give you a free burger on the day of the ceremony, March 10. Nominees in all categories can pick up a free Shackburger on Sunday with a valid ID at the chain’s West Hollywood location.
That restaurant will “be getting a full glam makeover” this weekend to celebrate Hollywood’s biggest night, including “a red carpet, big bright lights, and many surprise and delight moments.”
The deal is not available at Shake Shack restaurants located in airports, stadiums, arenas, travel plazas, and museums. The press release notes that “all paid add-ons such as avocado, bacon, and whipped cream” are likewise excluded from the promotion. You may only add one free item per order, but there’s no limit to the amount of orders you make throughout the promotion period.
Depending on your burger preference, you’ll either be hoping for a swift ceremony or an extended one, but at least you can count on a free sandwich no matter who wins.
