Just days after announcing its donuts will soon be available at McDonald’s, Krispy Kreme is offering customers a delectable deal on April 1 (via People). That might be April Fool’s Day, but the chain wants you to know the deal is “no joke.”
On Monday, Krispy Kreme is selling a dozen Original Glazed donuts for just $4.01 in a nod to the date. There is a slight catch, though: you can only claim the deal if you purchase another dozen donuts at the regular price. But who can complain when they have 24 Krispy Kreme donuts to eat?
On March 19, Krispy Kreme debuted four new seasonal donuts, dubbed the “Spring Minis” collection. The small-but-mighty creations include the Mini Birds Nest Doughnut, constructed from a Mini Original Glazed topped with chocolate buttercream, sprinkles, and everyone’s springtime favorite—Cadbury Mini Eggs.
Also on offer is the Mini Hatching Chick Doughnut. That also has a Mini Original Glazed for a base, but is slightly more subdued. It’s topped with a light yellow icing and dusted with white sprinkles. Chocolate and orange icing fill out the hatching chick’s face.
You can also choose from the Mini Strawberry Egg Doughnut—glazed with strawberry icing, with yellow and teal sprinkles—and the Mini Robin’s Egg Doughnut—glazed with teal and sprinkles resembling a daisy.
Krispy Kreme has upped its game in recent years, opening more stores and positioning itself as a direct competitor to Dunkin. Tuesday’s announcement concerning its McDonald’s partnership caused the North Carolina-based company’s stock to skyrocket. Krispy Kreme ended trading on Tuesday up by more than 39 percent, its highest level since December 2021.
The donuts will be available at all American McDonald’s locations by the end of 2026, delivered fresh daily.
