Although the exact origin of the margarita remains the subject of debate, Cointreau's original margarita recipe is celebrating its 75-year anniversary in 2023. To mark the occasion—and to celebrate Cinco de Mayo—the orange liqueur is giving away a whopping $75,000 to margarita lovers.
All you have to do is head over to its website and take a pledge to follow the brand's original margarita recipe, which uses Cointreau alongside tequila and fresh-squeezed lime juice. You have until May 4 to sign up.
On May 5, the brand will distribute the $75,000 in $20 increments, meaning there will be 3,750 winners overall.

Winners will be paid out via digital payment platforms like Venmo and CashApp so they can secure their Cinco de Mayo margaritas on the house. Who can say no to free booze money?

Cointreau's Original Margarita Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Cointreau
- 2 oz Blanco Tequila
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
Directions:
- Make a salt rim on your glass.
- Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
- Shake vigorously until well chilled.
- Strain into a margarita glass.
- Garnish with a lime wheel.
